A love letter to cinema

We watch deliberately. We write before we speak. We keep it small so attention can be large. From Ozu to Varda to Tsai, we take form seriously—rhythm, sound, bodies, light—because that’s where feeling begins.

Each week, one film. “The Setup” frames the watch; members submit reviews before we talk. Disagreement sharpens taste; generosity keeps it human.

“Watch deliberately. Write generously. Argue in good faith.”
Attention over speed

We program for patience—frames, rhythms, and choices that reward careful looking.

Write before talk

Reviews first, then discussion. Language clarifies what we felt and why.

Disagree well

We argue in good faith—style, ethics, and taste can collide without contempt.

Small on purpose

Ten members. One film. A room that can actually hear itself.

We see films as art—built from rhythm, sound, performance, light, and history. Each week we curate one film and ask members to write before we gather. Over time, threads emerge: melancholy and memory; bodies and choreography; ethics of listening; games of form; labor and dignity.
